Goals

Summer has always felt like a time for making things happen.  I suppose that's what the New Year is all about, but that's such an inconvenient time of year - right in the middle of things.  Here's my list:

  • - knit the quilt
  • - make enough $$ to pay for one half of my Harlaxton adventures.
  • - learn to juice (my interest has piqued)
  • - then, learn to appreciate what I've juiced
  • - bake something fabulous with my momma
  • - become a pescatarian, because daddy's fish is just too good
  • - read consistently
  • - write consistently
  • - spend more time outside
Sounds like I won't have much nothing-time this summer. I'm alright with that :)

Post on the Battle of the Kittez later today.

Busy Bee

I need to get better about writing things down here. It's been a hectic couple of weeks and I feel like I have a lot to share!!
For instance, I went to a doula workshop in Austin:

It was a truly magical experience and I do feel like it's changed me for the better.  Feeling like I can really make a difference in people's lives is a great thing.

There is a quilt I'm planning on (or, rather, procrastinating) starting.  I can't for the life of my find the pattern for it, which is not a good thing...  That's my big knitting project for the summer.  I'm also planning on reading about 5,000 books, but when am I not?

Basically my summer will be filled with smelly, drooling dogs, a painfully complex quilt pattern, a typewriter (that I'm planning on writing the Great American Novel with), fabric and paint (I'm redesigning my bedroom), 5,000 unread books,  naps, and this one boy that I just can't seem to ignore.  Oh, yeah.  I'm going to New Mexico, too!

Let's get started!!!
